Balneo Bathrooms Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 08645158, registered office 34 Wenallt Road, Rhiwbina, Cardiff, CF14 6SD. We are the data controller for the information described below.
Contact us about anything in this policy at info@balneobathrooms.co.uk.
What we collect and why
When you enquire about a bathroom project — through our website, through an advert on Facebook or Instagram, or by messaging us on WhatsApp — we collect your name, contact details, postcode, and details about the project such as the type of work, your budget range and your timeline. We also keep the messages you send us.
We use this to respond to your enquiry, arrange a home visit, and quote for the work.
Our first WhatsApp reply is automated rather than from a person. Ask for a person at any point and we'll pick it up.
Our lawful basis
We rely on legitimate interests to respond to your enquiry — you contacted us, and you'd expect a reply.
We rely on your consent to contact you on WhatsApp. You give it by ticking the box on the enquiry form and can withdraw it any time by telling us.
Where we've carried out work for you, we keep records to meet our legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
We use third-party service providers to run our enquiry and messaging systems. They process your information only on our instructions.
If you contacted us through a Facebook or Instagram advert, or message us on WhatsApp, Meta handles that message in delivering it, and your information may be transferred outside the UK under their approved safeguards. Everything else is stored in the European Union.
We don't sell your information. Apart from the advertising measurement described in the next section, we don't share it for marketing.
Cookies and advertising measurement
Some of our pages carry the Meta Pixel, which sets a cookie called _fbp in your browser. We use it to work out whether our advertising is reaching the right people and to show our adverts to people with similar interests. It is not needed for any page to work.
You can stop it. Blocking third-party and tracking cookies in your browser settings prevents it, as does any standard tracking blocker, and nothing about the page or your enquiry changes if you do. You can also control how Meta uses what they hold about you in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
Where you send us an enquiry, we may also send Meta a record of that enquiry directly from our systems so the measurement is accurate when a browser blocks the cookie. That record contains your email address, phone number, name and postcode in a scrambled form (hashed), never as readable text, along with your IP address and browser type. Meta matches it against their own records and discards what doesn't match.
For this measurement Meta and Balneo Bathrooms Ltd are joint controllers, which means we're each responsible for parts of it. Meta's own explanation of what they do with it is in their Privacy Policy. Your information may be transferred outside the UK under their approved safeguards. You can object to this at any time by emailing us, and you can ask us to delete what we've sent.
How long we keep it
24 months from your last contact with us, unless we've carried out work for you, in which case we keep records of that work for as long as we're required to.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or stop what we do with it, or send it to another provider. You can object to us using it, and you can withdraw consent to WhatsApp contact at any time.
Email info@balneobathrooms.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
